I don't know if it's just the way Lark writes mafia men, or if it's really just that I don't like the beauty and the beast trope, but this was meh for me. 

The only redeeming part was that Miko wanted to "earn their trust" in the end.

Was not expecting who the love interest was but it’s definitely hinted at in the first book. Although it’s yet another beauty and the beast retelling, it’s not as predictable as I thought it would be. Again that 3/4 mark hits you like a truck and makes you question everything. Third book is downloading now and I’m excited to finally read about Nero. All the love, always <3

I loved more the first book in the series because I don't like much the kidnapping trope. But the book was really easy and fast too read. I read it in 3 days in a row. I the end I liked the book.

I love Miko's character, I love Nessa's, the two of them together is so AH! I love how they are perfect foils for each other.

Wishing there was little more plot, but I still really enjoyed!

I liked the Beauty and the Beast vibes this gave. However, there was too much mafia and not enough romance in this for me. The smut was left to the end, and then it felt like the author just put it there, and it was too much all at once. I didn't enjoy this as much as BRUTAL PRINCE, and I found my interest in the story coming and going. I'm not sure if I wasn't in the mood for mafia romance or if I wasn't vibing with the slow-burn romance. But I am interested in continuing the series and will be picking up SAVAGE LOVER sometime soon.
