I received an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review. Review and upcoming release-blitz can be found on *Milky Way of Books*

Liam and Samantha's story continues in this new series by Skye Warren. Mystery, grudges and hidden feelings will emerge. And in this point, I have started to become invested on when Josh and Bethany will get their own story or if Elijah, both brothers to Liam, will have his own story. The plot moved fast and the info about the music and the composers were very neat.

“The moment her lips touch mine I’m suffused with music, thousands of notes that she’s played for me, a million heartbeats.”

I loved the second book in this series! ❤️
Concerto was full of mystery and secrets that needed to be discovered. I loved how Samantha changed from the first book to the second. In this particular book, she was bold and faced the danger and her fears. 👍 I have no idea what the next book will bring, but please don’t hurt anyone anymore. Because the last part of the book was pretty cruel if you ask me.

Samantha is now eighteen and all the reasons Liam was holding back are somewhat acceptable now. This is the continuation and middle part of their story. I did feel that this section has some repetitive parts. It wasn't as sexy as Overture and I thought there were too many voices without clear distinction of which characters head we are in. There are more secret and twists uncovered but that ending is what makes me want to read the next book. I need to know what happens!

This specific video review will be included in the September/October 2019 wrap-up.

Concerto is the sequel to Overture, a trilogy story for Samantha and Liam. Skye Warren got me so hard, I am in love with her writing. Overture is amazing but Concerto has a new spark to it all, can't wait for what Sonata will deliver. Samantha the teenage prodigy growing up and becoming s strong woman. Liam have been through more than enough in his youth. The raw romance between them had me on my seat from page one until the last one. Liam is always looking to protect Samantha, not trusting anyone they are both struggling with the past and the new things life is throwing at them, making their relationship so vulnerable. This forbidden love romance comes with all kinds of twists and turns I need Sonata now!

This book was good, but it felt a bit like filler in the trilogy, and the romance got lost in the other plots from time to time. I have high hopes about the conclusion to Liam and Samantha’s story.

No where near as interesting or well written as her other series. Kind of ridiculous plot, similar issues with characters doing things suddenly with motivation just popping up.

Audiobook Review

Overall 3.5 stars
Performance 4 stars
Story 3 stars

Concerto is book 2 in the North Security series and should only be read/listened to after Overture. Samantha and Liam's story picks up pretty much where book 1 left off, but overall there isn't a lot of action in the book. There's still angst galore in this taboo age gap romance, but it felt like the majority of the book was spent diving into the emotions and getting to know some of the supporting characters. The biggest surprise was the 3rd POV introduced briefly in the story and I'm really hoping that we see a book for him in the future.

Teddy Hamilton's narration as Liam was amazing again, but there were more Samantha chapters, so a good portion of the book is performed by Grace Grant. Her male voices aren't my favorite and I'm still struggling a bit with her narration, but overall it was an enjoyable listen. The cliffhanger isn't bad in this one, but I still can't wait for Samantha and Liam's conclusion in Sonata to release!
