This is a great read so long as you remember it is a memoir. I find the description to be accurate, but the book's tagline of "a Black prosecutor's fight for fairness" gives the expectation that there will be further commentary for each story on how the outcome could have gone different if the justice system were reformed in [a particular] way. That commentary is missing.
I still recommend anyone to read it.

All of these stories struck a deeper cord in md me than I ever expected. Coates' experience—as a Black woman, specifically—was raw, powerful, and educational. The justice system was never blind, and the odds are rarely in the favor of the oppressed.

This is an absolute must for anyone interested in race relations and how they impact our legal system. Incredibly written and courageous.
