This was an incredibly hard read, but that just goes to show just how raw and real the emotions you get from it are. it was a tragic story but it was also a beautiful one, it shone light on issues that were due a shining and the writing was perfect. each scene was incredibly raw and i caught myself having to take multiple breaks in between scenes just to recover from the text. i dont regret reading this book one bit. it was very hard to get through but very much worth it.

Absolutely heart wrenching. The realism of this book just made it that much more tragic. It will make you uncomfortable. It talks about difficult issues surrounding race, homophobia, early sexualization, and abuse. But that's what makes this book important. Honestly have had few books that have impacted me in such a way.
Not for the faint hearted. Difficult but important read.

For me, the jumping through different time periods was confusing. However, when I reached the end I finally understood the need for it.
It’s a heavy hitter of a novel. Bringing you up close and personal with what the characters have gone through.

Tiffany D Jackson knows how to take you on an emotional rollercoaster and drive you to desiring more of her writing.  This is a heavy hitter so be prepared to read this in intervals.

It is a great YA novel for young adults and inexperienced readers. For adults who read regularly, it relies pretty heavily on tropes that would be better suited for the screen.

This is a book that should be in every classroom. It is haunting and unrelenting. It is a book that will stick with you.

This is my second book from Tiffany D. Jackson, and no one can put you into the minds of characters like Ms. Jackson. The split povs between time kept me on the edge if my seat as I tried to piece together exactly what happened and when.

There's definitely a resigned knowledge of how this will end yet the reveal is still a gut punch. For me everything about Monday and her life was just utterly heartbreaking. I wanted to scream at most of those grown-ups to shut up and listen and do something.

You want things to have been so different than they were. And the reveal and aftermath is this horridly perfect mix of unsettling, infuriatiing, depressing, and healing.

If there's anything to take from this book, just pay attention. Pay attention to your friends. Pay attention to your classmates. Pay attention to the kids on your block. Just pay attention.
