I actually enjoyed this book more than I expected. There was a bit of instalove and some of Gia's actions didn't make a lot of sense. My favourite part of the book was Gia's friendship with Bec.

I have to give West some props - her writing is so fluid that it's easy to get through her books. The plots? Well, that's a different story.
This book felt like she took a dartboard and aimed to see what cliche she'd include in the next chapter.

Yet another book by Kasie West that I adored. My heart went squish. I loved the character of Gia and her growth throughout the story. One I can't wait to share with students!

It was good, but not exceptional. I liked it but I liked Kasie West’s On The Fence a lot more. I felt like I could relate to Charlie a lot more than I could to Gia. I also listened to this book, and it was my first time listening to a book in, like, forever. I hated Spencer, Jules and Eve.

Guys............Why do I do this?
Why do I, when I have been moving away from fluffy, YA contemporaries, and even, in some ways, YA in general, do I pick up a book I know is going to be nothing but utterly mindless frivolity?
I will tell you why:
1. My Random Number Generator told me to. This book was on my TBR, RNG picked it, so I read it.
2. Last year, the RNG also chose two other Kasie West books and they actually impressed me. I enjoyed them so much more than I thought I would, and it was those books that made me continue with Kasie West as an author.
But this one...not so much. I should have heeded the warnings I saw in the Goodreads reviews. I should have backed away slowly from the ridiculou, petty, mean girl bullshit that was the foundation of this story, but alas I proceeded.
Okay, I admit I am being a tad overdramatic. Overall, I actually thought this story was pretty cute. And, as every Kasie West book, there is something deeper hidden within the actual plot of the story. So, I mostly enjoyed it.
But I want so much more out of the stories I consume this is yet another I will set down, and probably mever think of again.
I won't think of the characters (which is good because aside from Hayden and his sister, the characters were garbage). I won't swoon over the relationship. None of that will happen. And when that doesn't happen, I can't say this was a worthwhile read.
Seriously y'all....I need to go find a book that is going to rip my hart out, through it on the ground, set it on fire, and feed it to a hoard of hungry zombies, because I need to read something that is going to make me feel more then anger and aggravation.
