These characters are not perfect, and some aren't even likeable l, but I still enjoyed the novel.

Synopsis: This is about Althea, Viola, and Lillian - three sisters who have a seriously dysfunctional relationship. Althea and her husband have just been sentenced to several years in prison for food stamp fraud and embezzling charity money, and the other sisters are trying to figure out what to do with Althea's children while also facing their own demons.

Each of these characters is pretty messed up in different ways, and their relationship with each other as well as with their brother is pretty flawed too. I really liked the alternating perspectives, because it showed just how complex these relationships were, and the faults that each woman brings, while also allowing the reader to connect with each one.

I've seen some reviewers say they were bored. I wasn't bored at all, but I love character-driven novels. If that's not your thing, this probably won't be for you. But if you like slow-burn family dramas, then definitely check this out!
