Bardzo fajna pozycja dla osób, które przeszły już grę i szukają dodatkowych informacji o świecie. Pięknie zebrana książka z concept-artami.

A comprehensive companion to one of my favorite sci-fi worlds of all time! The game itself is a violent and dark adrenaline rush with an intensely human core, but it was hard to get a good picture of the world's history and this book definitely provides that. I love how it read like a compilation of various sources, each covering a certain aspect of Night City: historical origins, political and social climate, types of tech, interviews with major players, and even breakdowns of the gangs and corporations that run everything. The art was top-notch as always, down to the flashy and often raunchy ads scattered throughout. I also found it interesting that the world of Cyberpunk 2077 starts in an alternate version of the 2020s (much higher-tech than we are now), which wasn't super clear in the game. I haven't come across many alternate timeline sci-fi's before, so it was a pleasant surprise to see how well this was set up. Definitely a fine example of worldbuilding done right.

Some quotes that I really liked:

"We live in a dystopian world, my friends, filled with crime, corruption, and poverty - ruled by mighty, power-hungry corporations and heartless, brutal governments... in today's world, knowledge and the ability to distinguish truth from fake news are the real superpowers."

"Regardless of their origins, they [the celebrities] will shine brightly for a period of time until some new star outshines them, or they're cast aside by their fans' ever-changing tastes. Until then, they will be admired and worshipped, living filthy-rich lives in fabulous estates and villas, whimsically coasting about in limos, private jets, and luxury boats - the embodiment of the public's dreams and desires. Demigods among mere mortals."

"There is always a way down from rock bottom."

"[Cyberpunk style] was about standing up against corporate-dictated order, about defying authority and playing it out with style. To live on the edge, with a capital E. You wanted to be where the action was - to be the action."

"If cyberpunk has a chance to reconnect to its roots, it would be in a place like Night City. Maybe there's hope for second-wave cyberpunks after all."

"Friendship... has its price. It can mess up your life. It can be a burden. Doing pals favors for old times' sake can lead to messy situations."

Great intro into the world of the video game. Not so much an art book as an actual background journal on the world, gangs, mods, etc., with excellent art of the video game. A shame the game itself was released as it was, though I'm confident a year or two down the road, they'll make it right.

This is such an amazing insight into the world of Cyberpunk 2077 - reading it after playing the games three or four times already I realize that there's a lot of context that this book contains. It's a plain-old infodump, with wonderful artwork accompanying it - but it makes sense, the way it's presented. It's infodump, but it's not boring - I especially appreciated the visit of each neighborhood, where the journalist is interacting with the world of CP77 the way a player would if they would try, in game, the same thing.

I also like the suggestion that CP77 is some sort of post-cyberpunk movement - the final interview with Rogue really puts things into perspective, and gives more weight to both the cyberpunk notion and movement in itself.

I wonder how this book hits as a first-contact with the world of CP77. For me, after playing a few times the game, it's still a fresh source of information, and really makes me want to press Play on the game once more. I guess that's what this book is about.

It's pretty good! It's a combination of travel guide, classic video game magazine, and history textbook. CDPR are the kings of good flavor text and that's basically the book.

As dumb as this sound I wish it had less to do with the game, the alternative history section could've been twice as long and I wouldn't have gotten bored, and really this book could use that extra detail. Still it's good for what it is, and has me looking forward to 2077.

Had some fun reading this. The World of Cyberpunk 2077 is both an art book and an internet journal "written by" Night City's denizens regarding Night City and all its inhabitants. It serves as a guide for NC's sometimes confusing history, and managed to shine light on some areas that I myself was confused on when I played the game. If, like me, you adored the game despite all of its flaws, you might benefit from reading this book. You might learn a thing or two and appreciate the format as well.

The World of Cyberpunk 2077 is the perfect companion novel for those that are seriously enjoying the video game. Or for those that simply enjoyed all of the visual decisions that went into the making of it.

This is a novel that explores the lore of Cyberpunk 2077. Everything from the major points down to the minutia, including the artwork itself. Picture a stereotypical flier you might find about any city out there. Now picture it with a lot more color, and you’ve got a solid idea of what is in store for you.

Don’t worry – there is a story to follow along with all of the information you could hope to get about Night City. One more reason to check it out, I suppose.
