Dealt with a lot of heavy topics that seemed to get fixed relatively easily. There was a little too much and not enough going on for me. Loved having a baby be a part of the story though, and the character banter is top tier as always. Just didn't feel connected to this trilogy's characters and I don't know why

Another one knocked outta the park by Abby Jimenez 💕

This could have been a 5 star read, but a miscommunication trope will always be a deduction from me.

I LOVED how this wasn't necessarily insta-love. We saw two strangers become friends before lovers, and that's everything to me.

I actually learned a lot about ALS from this book. It definitely made me think about how I live each day and see the world. And I got some laughs out of it!

If you already love her books you’ll love this one, if you don’t love her books but love uplifting stories with witty characters, a friends to lovers romance with independent character growth  and a touch of family struggles written as if the author as personally lived through these struggles, this book of for you. Vanessa is a strong woman who knows her limits and faults and Adrian is a man who knows he needs to work on things and has some of the best written boundaries and respect for women I’ve ever seen in a book. And if your worried about the fostering element like I was, just take the leap you won’t regret it.
But, as always with her books she covers real life issues so please check the content warnings.

My first Abby Jimenez book.

I liked the slow burn, but got a little annoyed with the stereotypical 'miscommunication' trope that kept them apart. It would have been better if they were just trying to resist that whole time, rather than resisting because they thought to themselves that the other person "could not possibly interested." That being said, I did like the conflict for the most part
and I liked that they spent a significant amount of time apart before re-kindling. It made it feel just a little bit different than your typical romance.

Based on the previous books in this series, I knew going in that there probably would be some heavy topics, but this felt like so many heavy topics all at once. Regardless, I loved their story. To me the ending didn’t really live up to the hype of the first 80%. I also wanted more epilogue. I feel like Grace wasn’t in it enough in the end, and the happy ending wasn’t long enough I wanted more!

“If you spend your life dwelling on the worst possible thing, when it finally happens, you’ve lived it twice.”

Vanessa Price, travel & fun influencer has a huge online following, but the basis for her account is that she wants people to remember to have the fun. To put your face to the sun, to drink that wine, to live life to the fullest. When her youngest sister leaves her with her infant daughter and fails to return, she switches up her world to embrace caretaking. Enter Adrian Copeland, grumpy neighbor (but not really), he becomes The Baby Tamer, and their lives start to intertwine.

The story is as beautiful, fun, and poignant as you would expect an Abby Jimenez story to be. Fast paced, filled with as many humorous moments as there are emotional, and a story I would read again. OH! There is a senior rescue dog too.

“I enjoy things as soon as possible. I burn the expensive candle, I use the fancy rose-shaped soap, and I drink the wine, even if the only thing I’m celebrating is the fact that it’s Tuesday.”
