So. This book was done in the second person. There are very very few books that have taken this point of view and was actually successful at it. Sadly this one isn't one of those books.

I understand that this is a book for younger children but I feel like that shouldn't dumb down the quality of the story. It was pretty difficult to get into the story whenever the second person popped up and it pretty much sucked that some events were hastily sped through.

The first book of the 3 retellings was certainly better.

Me gusto mucho más que el primero! Disfrute mucho con la perspectiva del autor, y me engancho enseguida.

This book is not well written. The voice is straight up not well done, the point of view bounces between 2nd and 3rd person which is VERY confusing, it's all in present tense, which can be fine but it's not in this book.

But my biggest issue? He skips scenes. Almost every scene between Han and Leia isn't there, merely skipped, as if anyone needs to skip those scenes. It's incredibly annoying.

But the number thing I hate is that he changed almost every single line between Luke and Yoda. The lines that are the best lines of dialogue in all of Star Wars, save perhaps the animated series, but that banter is so well done BECAUSE of these lines! And to see hardly any of them at all presented in this novel is beyond frustating. I adore every line, every interaction with Luke and Yoda. It's hilarious and funny and deep at all the right times. It sets up Yoda as this wise, joking, fun, and powerful little creature who has been a Jedi for almost a millinium, who ensures the jedi don't die out due to Anakin or any other Skywalker, in Legends and Canon. Changing or straight up losing his lines are a big deal to me. This cannot be given even 3 stars, it's so bad.

Not a good book. Physically beautiful, but not well done at all. 2.5/5

Soy fan de la saga y cómo me paso con los anteriores, siento que me completa un montón la historia de las películas, además la lectura fue súper ágil.

I have never been found of the whole "second person point of view" and then change to "third person point of view". Seriously please pick one and be done with it. I had seen enough of these type of books during my childhood in those "pick your own adventure" series. I even thought "Okay, so we are going this way too?" Fortunately we did not and I was able to relax a bit.

You are Luke Skywalker and you want to be a Jedi. The narrative in some parts gives you a bit of advice on how to handle yourself on how to act like a Jedi. And of course, there are no "mushy scenes" because you know boys are probably going to read these books and they don't want that seen in there.

So far this was one book I cared little for. I had to put it down for a bit and do things before I tackled this book again. Fortunately I was able to finish it and prepare myself for the next book in this trilogy.

As for this one, I leave the decision up to those who wish to read it and form their own opinion upon the book themselves. As for me, this one will remain on my shelf and perhaps collect dust until my nephew is a bit old enough to try other books to read.

I disliked this. In all fairness, I realized partway through that it’s meant for children.
