3.5, but more towards a 4 then a 3.
It's fun, but you really need to read the previous books to get some of the references. Angie is fun, whilst her beau is decidedly dull. I enjoyed the murder mystery part and the paranormal bit wasn't too cutesy like in the other books. A bit too many recipes, but not a big bother if you like to cook.

I love a good cozy - though I still think Agatha Christie reigns as the original queen of the cozy (before there really was such a thing). The problem is, the market is now so overwhelmingly flooded that it's become really difficult to find truly good examples of the genre. I'd have to say this isn't really one of them. Enough to wile away a couple hours on a free afternoon - but not more than that. I think my main difficulty here is writing itself is very uneven, and the (multiple) plot lines seem to be in need of some really good pruning for better growth. According to Goodreads definitions I would say 'it was okay' - 2 stars.
