The Goose Girl was a joy to read. Every page had me enthralled. And it's refreshing to have a writer whose work is targeted towards children and young adults, but doesn't talk down to them through their writing. I think many writers who target their work towards children and/or young adults (James Patterson) could learn a lot from Shannon Hale.

I've read this book twice and I've listened to the Audiobook. I absolutely love this story. This isn't just a children's book, I think adults would love this story as well.

I really enjoyed this one. I'm so glad that I was able to find a copy with this gorgeous new cover (Book Outlet has them in stock!) and it was so worth the read. The writing is pretty flowery, but I genuinely enjoyed the adventure and the fantastical feel it gave me. I'm super excited to continue with the series!

I can't remember how I first ran across this book, but when I saw on Goodreads that so many people I know had read it and given it a good rating, I got in line for the audiobook. The audiobook is a full-cast production and that was really fun. The story was good! It really was! But! I think I am too old for tween books. I think I would have enjoyed reading this a couple decades ago but now that I am nearly 30, I guess I grew out of being enchanted by this sort of story.
