The second part is equally filled with action and history. We get introduced to new characters in this part. We see Poonkuzhali and Ponniyin Selvan himself. I loved the description of Sri Lanka under the Chozla Imperial. I loved how peaceful it was and how happy the people were celebrating even during wartime. I was, however, intrigued when the leadership of Karikalan and Arulmozli was compared by Vandiyadevan himself. We know that eventually Arulmozhli will be ruling the Chozla empire, but it is fun to just wonder how it would have been under Karikalan's rule.

The female characters in this book are extremely strong and smart. I love that they, too, play a huge part when it comes to the decisions or plots made in this book.

I can't wait to read the next part!

What I hate in the book is superstition and over praising of cholas. He doesn't humanise them by showing their flaws and positives equally. Instead he IDEALISES them making them perfect as if they were made out of Angels.

But What I love are the Dialogues, humor & innocence. The slow pace of the plot doesn't keep me awake at night but instead helps me to relax and wind down before sleep.

So by writing down both the flaws and positives equally this way, I'm humanising the book. If only Kalki had done the same for his Title character - the book would have been an easy 5
