Mi è piaciuto da impazzire e adesso non vedo l'ora di leggere The Last Hour perché mi sto già affezionando a questi personaggi.

ha, i KNEW i won't be able to remember all Herondale-Lightwood-Fairchild-Carstairs lineage. But I had a feeling this was feelsy, u feel me? Like, if I'd reread [b:Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy|28954137|Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy|Cassandra Clare|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1454864103s/28954137.jpg|46924845] I could give this higher rating because I would actually know what is going on? But I had a feeling I understood and it gave me enought heartbreak.

Also, ofc the Jem ending killed me again. These stories always ends on heronstairs parabatai feels AND I AM NOT OKAY

OH MY GOD

THIS IS WORSE

SO MUCH WORSE

Firstly: I love Matthew Fairchild my sunlit child. I would give him all the hugs. He’s such a wonderful character. I love how he’s always trying to take care of anyone.

Secondly: this book. Broke. My. Heart.

A lot of the time dark tragic secrets you can’t tell anyone aren’t actually that bad. This one definitely was. Matthew has an actual secret that he can’t tell anyone.

Since Nothing But Shadows when I first encountered Matthew Fairchild I loved him. What I loved most was his relationship with his father: HENRY.

This book made me so scared. I’ve always felt that miscommunications are the worst source of tragedy and this book reaffirmed that.

The thing I love most about Cassandra Clare’s world is the references to other characters and incidents I know and love scattered through, there’s an endless appreciation I have when she throws in a seemingly unrelated reference and I catch it and I start screaming YESSSS.

The running gags of Christopher being a Human Disaster and James and the spoon! Wonderful and what I needed to reread to get over the dark turn.

I hope we see more of Sophie and Gideon and Henry and that Thomas comes into his own. And that Matthew gets a hug.

FAVOURITE QUOTES: (I have more but I digressed)

-Friends who were easy to get might be easy to lose, and Matthew wanted to keep people.

-Matthew glowed. Zachariah was reminded of Matthew’s mother, and the kindness that had taken in three orphans when she was hardly more than a child herself. (GO CHARLOTTEEEE)

-“My papa has a warlock friend he talks of frequently. They invented Portals together, did you know? “

-“Bad news comes like rain and good news like lightning, barely seen before a crash. “

-“Is your friend with you?” Asked Ragnar Fell, and twitched. “Is Christopher Lightwood upon the premises? Is our Market shortly to be engulfed in flames?”

-Will has always been my favourite too.

-Matthew loved his father beyond reason

-Like the rest of him, his eyes were a trick

-Besides which, Professor Fell had threatened to leave the Academy forever if Christopher remained.

-“Watch the test tubes!” cried Thomas. “There is a hole in the floor at the Academy that Professor Fell calls the Christopher Lightwood Chasm. “

-Having the best Papa in the world, Matthew would be perfectly satisfied with him

-Matthew’s father touched his hair with a gentle, loving hand. Matthew wished he would pick up a blade and cut Matthew’s throat.
