MIRACLE is everything that I am used to in an Elizabeth Scott novel wrapped up into one: a powerful story, great writing, and a hint of romance thrown in for fun.

The topic in MIRACLE is really hard to deal with. Meggie has just been in a plane crash, and she is the only one who has survived. Her family, and everyone else in town for that matter, keeps calling her "the miracle." Meggie doesn't know how to deal with this and go on with her life.

The story was great. Because of the topic, this was a very hard book to read - which I expected going in to the book. However, the story took a while to get moving. I got to around page 60 or 70 and just kept thinking, "Where is this going? What is the plot here?" There really didn't seem to be a lot of plot development for a good chunk of the book, and then the plot goes from not moving at all, to moving too fast.

The characters were - for the most part - okay. I did not agree with the decisions of some of the characters, and some of the characters really pissed me off at times. However, the character that I had problems with was Meggie herself. At times, she got on my nerves so much I almost had to stop reading. The way she treated people and avoided talking to people was ridiculous. Obviously, I don't know how I would be, if I were in her position, because I haven't been. However, her reactions to some things just did not seem right.

Overall, MIRACLE is a great book by Elizabeth Scott. While it is not my favorite Scott book, it is not horrible by any means.

Elizabeth Scott has got to be one of my favorite authors. That being said, this one felt like a disappointment.

Miracle, is a story about Megan, also known as Meggie, who becomes the lone survivor of a plane crash. Everyone thinks she is a miracle, and their inability to see who she really is quickly cuts her off from her friends and family. At first she doesn't remember the crash, but as time goes by she remembers more and more. Her memories haunt her, and she has a hard time adjusting back into her former life.

I think the story could have been better, but it ended too soon. There were too many unanswered questions, and the "romance" just barely got started, and then the story was over. We never figured out what was wrong with Megan's brother. Megan's life was never really fully explained either. Did she go back to school? Was she able to bring her grades up?

All in all, I liked the story, but it was too short. I will still read Scott's other novels, because I have liked so many before this one. But, this one wasn't my favorite.

This was a good book to end with in my journey to read all of Scott's YA books - it had everything she's best at.
