Hope walks in on her boyfriend of ten years having sex with another woman. Completely hurt she runs out only to find her way to the coastal town of Loverly Cave, back to her parents and sisters she hasn’t spoken to in ten years. She meets hot surfing tattoo shop owner Alec who falls madly in love with Hope at first sight… Only Hope believes that the romance is dead…

The town of Loverly and it’s people are the most over the top but you cannot help but love them. Right from the start you get glimpses into every character’s life and after finishing this book I’m so excited to see what the other characters will go through in their books, starting with the Levine sisters!

The insta love that Alec felt was a bit much for me, but the setting of this lovely town and it’s hilarious (and tad crazy) people just made it make sense. The relationship is really fast paced but also kind of a slow burn.

Overall the story is pretty predictable but it was just such a fun summer rom-com. It takes a while but there is definitely some spice, starting with hinting one-liners going to some pretty descriptive and hot scenes!

To be honest, when I started this book, my first thought was “what in the wattpad is this?” I didn’t think the first chapter was very well written although I think it was the author’s way of making us understand the main character. Because the way she was being treated was ridiculous. It took me a bit to get into this book but once I got into it, I loved it! The writing at the beginning is why I couldn’t give it 4 stars.

Perfect summer rom com book if you’re looking for a quick read (it read so easily) to get out of a reading slump! Cannot wait for the next books!

This was a cute read. A tattoo artist surfer with golden retriever energy.

Overall, I didn't connect as much with the writing or the meddling town. I usually love some meddling but this didn't hit it home for me. Additionally, I didn't love how Alec wormed his way in almost gaslighting her into moving in and being her knight in shining armor instead of lifting her up to support herself.

There were a ton of great things about this book though, hence the 3 rating. Their cozy first date was adorable and I loved some of the comedy.

I was able to ARC read this but all opinions are my own.

This was the cutest small beach town - like I want to visit!
The whole town is so quirky from the Motivation, Hug and Love cars to the cocktail menu at LP's - and especially all the residents.

Hope has left a horrible relationship and is on the path to self discovery and mending bonds with her family. She shows up in her parents new town Loverly Cave determined to be there for her family and close herself off to relationships. But she catches the eye of Alec Colson - tall, handsome, surfer, tattoo artist Alec Colson. The instalove is real here and Daisy makes it work with Alec having to put in the work to show Hope she is worthy of being loved fully.

I laughed out loud several times in this book. The dynamic with Hope and her sisters, Joy and Grace, is so relatable. Hope's and Alec's moms who are best friends are determined to get these two together and stay together - so they pull out all the meddling.

This is a great summer read and I can't wait to see what the other sisters get into in Loverly Cave!

The Romance is Dead is a cute, romance book set in a small town. Hope is recovering from her life blowing up after catching her boyfriend sleeping with his manager and she soon gets a call that sends her running to visit her parents in a small town.

Hope and hee sisters all end up in the same town and reviving their friendships. Hope meets Aellec on her way into town and he falls instantly, but Hope takes a little while longer to warn up to him and her feelings.

Insta love is not my favorite trope so Alec sometimes was a little much for me, but I still lived him and Hope and their story so much!
