I want more of these books! The ending is good, but definitely left me wanting to know more.

I'm so sad to not have another addition to this series but it's been a great ride!

Liked
*Doesn't feel like a middle grade.  If Theo's age hadn't been specified I'd think she was more 16-17 and not almost 12
*All the Egyptian mythology
*Mysterious
*Platonic friendships

Disliked
*The 11 yo is smarter than the adults

Ok, first off, why isn't the series more famous? This is way better than Rick riordan's throne of fire series.

Secondly, the only thing stopping me from giving this 5 stars was Theodosia's parents. Her mother is a terrible mother and there's no excuse for her name calling and embarassment no matter how worried she was. It's so cringy to watch the adult's behavior and I seriously wished the mother character found some redemption atleast in this book but even until the end, she was just as annoying as ever. Theodosia went above and beyond in this book to be awesome, the plot line was fantastic, missed some characters but the new ones introduced were really awesome. Isn't this the last book? Shouldn't there be a reunion of sorts with all characters? I don't get that feeling of closure I usually get from the last books in the series.

3.5 stars

Love these books! It ended like that may be it for Theodosia. But I hope not. There was some reference to the fact her gift was not limited to Egyptian artifacts, I had hoped her travels would go somewhere else?

Even though I'm pretty sure there was supposed to be one more book in the series, I think this was a really great place to leave Theodosia Throckmorton and her adventures. We got the answers to all of the questions we were left with in book four, and with that cat finally out of the bag with her parents, her possibilities are endless.

This one addressed quite a few ideas and themes so I won't get into them all, but I will say that seeing Theodosia struggling with feeling accepted by her parents and worrying about what they think of her, or how often they aren't thinking of her, felt like the one consistent thing throughout the series that I had needed addressed, finally acknowledged. There was one particular scene where I almost shed a tear, but I'm not mad that I didn't. It was sad, but it was also kind of heartwarming.

Anyways, this is going down in my books as one of the best middle-grade series that I have ever read.

Hooray for our little Egyptologist. And, I must say, she really comes into her own here (even more so). I think this is a great underrated series and the kids I've recommended it to have adored it.
