Heather’s writing is smooth, as per usual.

While Sage and Maddock are still my favorite couple; I like Coral and Skoll. Coral has shown so much growth over the course of the book, but Skoll, not so much. And I guess it is easy to attribute this to his years of traumatic experiences and friendships with conspiracy theorists. It impacted the progress of his relationship with Coral negatively. He is lucky that she is better decision maker in her human form than he is. But his love for Coral was evident despite his messy decision making. His wolf was much smarter than he was.
The pack politics in this book were far more complex than the first so I will be waiting, on pins and needles, for the final book. I can not wait to see who Kera’s mate is going to be.
The things I didn’t like are how it took me a minute to get into the romantic part; it was slightly pushed asides for the political plot, and how rushed the ending felt.
