This is like a poor man's version of The Interestings by Meg W. It's follows four friends over several years as they disconnect and reconnect. It's a bit predictable, mainly because of the author's penchant of referencing one scene repeatedly. A solid beach or airplane read but don't expect it to change your life.

I didn't think I liked this book, but the last 100 pages or so made it worth it.

Loved this way more than I expected to. Characters were surprisingly sympathetic. End got a tiny bit preachy, but it was literally the last two pages, so it didn't spoil it.

a 20yr friendship, starting in 90's Bristol in the summer. engaging character study, but at times, the purpose of male friends seemed to predominantly be to develop the women

J'aurais pu passer à côté de ce roman, dont le synopsis n'a rien d'extra.
Et pourtant... quelques phrases m'ont insidieusement atteinte.
Une lecture dont je voulais connaître le dénouement, mais pas si vite pour rester dans l'histoire, et que j'ai fini par dévorer quand même.

Not too sure how I felt about this book... It was SUPER sentimental and really predictable. There were some lines or philosophies I liked but nothing that really resonated. I also think the author was showing off her thesaurus prowess with all the crazy big words she would throw in when other, more accessible vocabulary would be perfectly acceptable--if not preferable to the average contemporary fiction reader.
