I loved this book!! I’m not crazy about time travel stories, unless they’re done right. This story is PREDOMINATELY a BEAUTIFUL ROMANCE! I loved every minute of this book!

Nick and Quinn belong together, they feel desperately attracted and strong emotions towards each other, like a magnetic attraction. But there are those who do not want them together and jump in time to change their destiny. Why? Because there is a prophecy about Nick and Quinn!!

I need book two NOW!! This is HIGHLY recommended if you love deep, emotional romance with a twist, and a mystery!!

Elizabeth O’Roark has become one of my favourite authors and this book is no exception to that. I absolutely loved every part of this book and it had me gripped the entire time.

This story follows a girl named Quinn who has these very vivid dreams about a boy named Nick and her life with him. It got so bad when she was younger crying out for her husband Nick that her parents put her in therapy to try to solve it. Now in present day she’s having these dreams again, to the point she passes out. When she gets to the hospital, she finds out her doctor is none other than the Nick she’s been dreaming about who’s also been dreaming about her too.

Every part of this book had me glued to the page. I was invested in Quinn and Nick as characters. I really loved them and their relationship. With the whole soulmates trope, for it to be done well I need to be shown why they need to be together rather than fold and this book did such a good job at showing that.

The characters had good conflict that kept them apart. You could understand where they were coming from and why they did the things they did. They developed at such a perfect pace especially given the next book is about them as well.

If you’re looking for an amazing romance with a magical twist, I highly recommend this one. The mystery and even with the reveals we had still has me so intrigued to figure out what will happen in the next one. This was everything I wanted it to be and more.

It started off super eerie and then it just got boring… the prose is very interesting but I don’t feel compelled to pick the second book up :c

I just finished reading the most fantastic book. It’s a romance that you have to go into blind and let it wow you and astound you and blow your mind. Just let me tell you that Quinn has always dreamed about a man named Nick but never met him. One day she collapses and is taken to a hospital and there he is. She knows all about him, has lived a life with him but has never met him until now. Likewise, Nick has been living an empty life until he meets Quinn and realizes he has always known her although they haven’t met.

There’s a bit about crossed-lovers, lots of family intervention, pressures from life. It’s all a fantastic and embroiled reality for Quinn and Nick but you know they are meant to be, you just don’t know how the heck they are going to get there.

During the book, Quinn is engaged to be married to Jeff, the guy who was with her during her father’s illness and after his death. It feels like she’s with him out of duty, gratitude and obedience to her mother’s wishes. A very clinging, manipulative and dependent mother! I hated Jeff, thought him self-centered and shallow. I felt bad for his failures but he should have done everyone a favor and gone back to the little town where he came from. He’s obviously only fit for a country life. I wanted to hit Quinn in the head for tolerating him and his clueless ideas about how they should live their life with no regard for her wishes and dreams.

Needless to say, I wanted Nick to get the woman. He’s brilliant, driven, intuitive and emphatic. He understood Quinn like no one else. He used to be a swimmer so he has a body that should be seen in Speedos all the time. He’s swoony and kind and so attentive. He was there in a way Jeff never was.

This book is riveting and fascinating and a mind meld. I haven’t read a book so mesmerizing in a long time and can only say that I loved it! I would give it six stars if I could. And of course it ends in a cliffy and I need the sequel soon!

In a sea of books, some great, some good, and some not-so-good, is PARALLEL, the first book in the Parallel Duet by author Elizabeth O'Roark. This book, with its twists, its turns, its 'what in the heck is happening, and how can I get more?!' is one of the most interesting books that I've read lately.

I'm a sucker for paranormal romance and romantic suspense, and when they're married together in the same book, well, I'm pretty much in reader heaven. In PARALLEL, Elizabeth has delivered a story that incorporates both of these genres, as well as plenty of slow burn (and by slow burn, I mean sizzling) romantic build-up, making for a read that had me locked in from the first chapter. Every time I thought I knew what was going on, who was who, and who was doing what in which timeline, Elizabeth deftly showed me that the answers are, in fact, yet to come.

PARALLEL is most definitely a book that deserves no spoilers, one that readers should go into without any idea of what's waiting for them. A very solid 4.5 stars, PARALLEL is on my must-read list for this year. I cannot wait to get my hands on INTERSECT (Book 2), because I need answers, dang it, and you will, too.

I feel like we could’ve invested more in their current supposed “situationship” but we got the heroine who can’t make decision until the last min kinda gal. Still this is a unique romance & I’d want to cont the series
