Laura Albright is going to be a mother. A good one. Not like her own. And this little Bump of her will be more loved than she can say. So when she runs to the last place she felt strong and independent - she runs straight into Samir Bianchi.
Laura is strong and kind and brilliant despite living with a tyrant and trying to put herself back together and thinking herself unworthy. Samir is literally the warmest and gentlest human who takes Laura in any way she wants him to - whether it is just friends or more. I honestly don't know how to process how much I loved this book. It is slow-burn - emphasis on burn, friends to lovers, a second chance but it is so much more than aby one trope description. There are conversations about being strong, what marriage really means, listening to someone and believing them, escaping your own damaging past and creating a future that you want and love. I literally laughed and cried on nearly every page. Not to mention - they are normal shaped humans and not a six-pack to be seen.
SIDE NOTES: TH does an awesome job with CWs but please pay attention for your own reading needs. Please read book one of the Ravenswood books first - this won't work without it.

This should have been a full length book because with such delicate subjects this talks about (domestic violence) it felt very surface level and the romance felt underdeveloped.

Someone recommended this author to me, and this book was available or free on KU. It sounded like it had potential. But it fell flat and didnt really leave me with any desire to search out anything else from this author. Pretty straight forward small town romance, minimal conflict/issues, only a few actual characters, some of who completely disappear or never actually make an appearance despite how often theyre mentioned.

Song: Damaged Goods - Flatland Cavalry
I knew Talia Hibbert would break by reading slump. Even if the book was not perfect, and was too short. I needed more of them! More explaining! More everything!
Thankfully, the whole series is ahead of me, with similar books.
xoxo
PS.: Mind the trigger warnings!
