This book is good, but the subject matter is not really the kind of stuff I usually gravitate towards - pregnancy is highly disturbing for me, so I had to look past that... There were also some smaller flaws like Samir asking Laura to tell him to stop/say no, instead of asking for enthusiastic consent; and phrases like "wet channel" to describe a vagina - Ew. But it's still a Talia Hibbert book, so I had a good time reading it.
Especially when Ruth and Evan made a cameo!

This series is great, and I finally chose not to start reading one just before bed. This was also a bit of a rougher read for me because of the more explicit on-page discussion of the abusive relationship. I still really enjoyed it, but I actually found myself skimming some of the sweeter parts to find out what happened with that relationship. It stressed me out more than I expected, and I wish there'd been a bit more of a resolution with her sister. But the main couple are sweet and lovely and it was a satisfying read overall. I may need to buy these once I've finished the series because they strike me as a good series for rereading when you need a mood boost.

Laura is recently separated, pregnant, and needs time away from her home to have her baby in peace. She reunites with her high school love and the rest is history. If you like pregnancy, second-chance romance, and a divorced main character, you will like this book!

I liked but didnā€™t love this book, itā€™s likely one of my least favorite of Taliaā€™s books. In all honesty, the main reason I didnā€™t love this was the main theme of pregnancy just is not my particular vibe. I think it would be a great book if thatā€™s something you are into or if it doesnā€™t give you the ick. It was an easy read, and I enjoyed the second-chance romance part of it. I would recommend only based on specific vibes, but it was good as all of Taliaā€™s books are, just not specifically my vibe.

Damaged Goods is my first Talia Hibbert book, and I didnā€™t know anything about it going in. Lo and behold, there are CONTENT WARNINGS! With chapter numbers! Oh my god every author needs to add content warnings in some capacity to their books, and when someone does with as much care as Talia Hibbert did it makes me so happy.

Anyway, on to the actual book review. I enjoyed this novella! Iā€™m definitely more of a romcom girl than an emotional/tense romance girl, but the pacing was really good and it felt like a full story even at only 160 pages.

I donā€™t think this series is necessarily right for me, but I will definitely be reading more of Talia Hibbertā€™s books. Her writing style feels like a good match for me as a reader, so I canā€™t wait to read some of her more lighthearted books. 3.5 stars.
