This has been my kids’ favorite entry in the Chronicles of Narnia so far. It’s structured more like a traditional children’s tale. The crew of the Dawn Treader progresses from island to island, unraveling the mystery in stepwise fashion.

I really enjoyed Eustace’s character development. His redemption through the Christ-figure of Asland  was touching. Eustace was not immediately a different person, but “the cure had begun.”

What can I say that I have noted before? Nothing… This is a wonderful series for a young reader. Children find themselves in a magical world of talking animals and embark on adventures with the animals before returning home. It's cute and creative. I look forward to sharing these with my grandchildren someday.

Another fun adventure by one of my favorite authors! This book in C.S. Lewis' Narnia series proved as creative as the others. Between feats of magic and descriptive moments of sailing; the discovery of new, unusual lands; a diversity of book characters with adorable personalities; and the pleasant, upbeat quality of the story itself―this sea adventure proved a satisfying read. I do recommend it for both children and adults, anyone with a spark of imagination.
