I don't have much to say about this book. Besides that, I believe everyone in their life should read it. If not this, then girl in Pieces or probably any book by Kathleen. They are truly so eye-opening and dive into the topic of mental health in such a beautiful and messy way.

I think it's important for everyone to have some knowledge on the hardships of different mental health problems, and reading this book is a good step to learning about them.

Genuinely such a good book, it may seem a bit slow at the start, but I believe it's worth it.

I would give this title a 4.5 if I could. It is a tale of opioid addiction, secrets, mental illness, friendship, and more. The town of Mill Haven seems to be a character of its own. Emory's family is the "old" money in town. Her great grandfather started the mill and made that town. But now it is closed and people are out of work. Emory is closest to her brother Joey, but he was given Opioids after an accident when he was 11 and now he is out of control. After almost overdosing on Heroin, Emory and Joey are in a car accident where a girl is killed. This book is heartbreaking and yet hopeful if you just have someone beside you. A 2023 Sequoyah nominee.
