I figured out most of the mystery pretty easily, but so far I have always found something in the books of this series that moves me.

Finally...Maisie is back to her normal self. Smart, compassionate, and observant without all the whining of the last couple of books. Investigating some petty crime and fires in a local village in preparation for a sale, Maisie gets involved with the annual hops picking and a band of gypsies. In addition to the good stories in these books, you really get a good sense of how deeply WW I affected England, for even years after the war ended.

Perhaps not as complex of a total mystery as others, another advancement in the lives of the main characters and good mystery.

I know there were supposed to be "rules" about reading these interspersed with more serious literature. Well I say there should also be RULES ABOUT HOW MANY CRAZY THINGS CAN HAPPEN IN ONE WORK WEEK. The rules regarding Maisie Dobbs books have been suspended until further notice.
