My first translated book of the year!

Baba Dunja's Last Love is about a small village near Chernobyl and the people who come back to it after the nuclear reactor catastrophe. This is more a character study than anything. I never really thought about the people who were displaced because of the meltdown at Chernobyl, this was a great slap in face type book.

I enjoyed Baba Dunja and seeing what her life is like. This was mostly a reflective and calm story, until there is MURDER! That's right, you read that right. But if you want to know more, you'll have to read the book.

I don't have much to say about this book. I'm glad I read it, but I wasn't super gripped by the story. I do hope it finds its people.
