Normal People is one of my two favourite books and the TV-show is also incredible. They've both altered my brain chemistry in a million ways and Sally Rooney's work touches my soul in ways I can't describe. So, of course I needed to read this while re-watching the show because I like to suffer and I can't enjoy anything if it doesn't make my heart hurt in a million different ways.

I want to protect Marianne and Connell in a bell jar. Until then, I'll cry thinking about them (and the way I'm writing this while listening to Moon Song by Phoebe Bridgers... the girls that get it, get it).

p.s.: as if I needed more reassurance, 2023 will be the year that I'll finally get a tattoo dedicated to Normal People.

Debo admitir que al principio la narración por alguna razón la sentía extraña y me costaba acoplarme pero al cabo de unas páginas estaba totalmente sumergida en el mundo de estos dos adolescentes. Sus inquietudes, su cosmovisión, y la forma en que se transforman a través de la novela, todo encaja de una manera extraña. La parte del querer formar parte de una sociedad con una normalidad inexistente en la que cada uno se pensaría excluido por su personalidad y como te moldea y te deja vacío, irreconocible.
El intimismo de los personajes y a la vez la falta de comunicación aún cuando hay lazos tan profundos que los unen.
