LOVED this book. I finished it in a day. Just what I needed as a break between series reading. Engaging, funny, sweet, emotional, and just absolutely lovely. All of the characters were all so human and well-written, they all really shined in O'Leary's writing. Also I ADORED Leon. He was absolutely perfect in every way and I loveeeeed him. I really enjoyed Tiffy too but I just want to emphasize that I absolutely thoroughly enjoyed reading from Leon's pov. Many times I feel like, a man's perspective or character is too boring, or uninteresting, or just not realistic. But Leon was just absolutely perfect. I loved reading this, it was SO much fun. would definitely read again

I really enjoyed the writing style from Leon's point of view!! It very much sounds like how I talk to myself/write notes (very fitting). I don't know if I'll read again though (and this is entirely on me) I didn't check TWs before reading (and forgot to read the blurb before starting) and it caught me off guard. I think it was truly beautiful and wonderful and I did really enjoy it, it just wasn't for me!

Mietin tässä, että raskinko antaa tälle 5 tähteä, mutta en keksi yhtäkään syytä antaa matalampaa arvosanaa. Ihan mahtava, tunteellinen ja kaunis kertomus. Kaikki muutkin O’Learyn kirjoista menee saman tien lukulistalle. Lukekaa ihmeessä!

My first one bed trope book and I rly liked it! I loved tiffy and Leon’s dynamic. It’s mildly opposites attract and worked out so well. All the side characters didn’t feel like side characters; they had their own life and color, were so fully fleshed out. Third act conflict was great bc it was more than just normal miscommunication, there’s a nuance to it.

Beth O'Leary does it again! I think I will always listen to her books (rather than read physical copies) because the narrators are always delightful and it really gives insight into the characters' personalities, which are what shine so brightly in O'Leary's stories.

I appreciate how tightly plotted this story is—the story isn't rushed, and there are several smaller, subtler story lines that are just as fleshed out as the main narrative. I think the only element I wish was more fleshed out is Leon's relationship with Kay. It seemed like O'Leary was implying that their relationship, if not as abusive as Tiffy and Justin's, was at least problematic and a bit toxic towards the end. It would've been nice to see that discussed a bit more, especially as a means of Tiffy and Leon bonding over shared experiences.

The Flatshare is filled with poignant insights, laugh-out-loud humor, and the kind of happy ending that feels grounded in reality. A total win.
