Not without it's flaws and propensity for overly flowery language but in the end that's the point. These Astartes are scholars and warriors.

While part of the last third was known to me through general lore, the bulk of it was fun and a fresh perspective of a rarely used Legion.

The human tale was decent but I felt the end short changed me after all the build up.

Entertaining but not a top novel I think. Probably top 20 by the sagas end.
