Read during college for a paper. I don't remember it extremely well, but I also dont recall it being bad, hence the average rating

How does one even review/comment on a story like this? It is eye-opening and just.... There really are no words because there's nothing that can truly describe what Pierre went through, from being deported to his life afterwards. There are no words.

A great follow up to Heger's Men With the Pink Triangle, providing another account of the treatment of homosexuals under the Nazi regime. Pierre had distinctly different experiences however, and it was interesting to discover that the use of the pink triangle was not universal.
This book is much more forward thinking than Heger's account, and it despairs over the lack of information and recognition of the persecution of homosexuals under the Nazi regime. This book also explains in depth his life after WWII, detailing his PTSD and alcoholism, giving a well rounded account of the after effects of such trauma.
An important read, which I am hesitant, once again, to give a star rating to.
