Very disappointed with this book and I was expecting way more. At first Jenn and Nathan's interactions were enticing, but they quickly became weird and creepy. Nathan turned out to be a really uncomfortable character. I kept reading thinking the book would change my mind, but sadly a book I was really excited to read this summer was probably the most disappointing book I read.

Read this quickly. I know it's meant to be a beach read, but it was just... hollow.

Before going into this you NEED to know that the things occurring in this book are wrong. And illegal. And gross. This isn't a beautiful romance, it's an illegal tryst between an underage boy and his girlfriend's mother. Bleurgh. Once you realise that, and only once you realise that, is it acceptable to enjoy the book.

To the author's credit, she didn't make it seem as though it were something desirable. Writing about terrible things but not acknowledging that they're terrible things ([b:Anna and the French Kiss|6936382|Anna and the French Kiss (Anna and the French Kiss, #1)|Stephanie Perkins|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1358271931l/6936382._SY75_.jpg|7168450]) is an awful habit that authors have that seem to excuse the things that their characters are doing. This is not one of these books. Thank god.

Disappointing novel about a stepmum who has an affair with her teenage daughter's boyfriend whilst on holiday in Mallorca.

I picked this book up because a) it had been on my to-read list for a while and b) it takes place in Mallorca and I'm obsessed with Mallorca at the moment. I can't say I LIKED this book, per say, because the subject matter is pretty disturbing. HOWEVER the ending was so awesome and surprising, and I literally didn't see it coming until the last paragraph. And if you can do that to me, you get at least 3 stars.

Very hot under the collar but poor ending in my opinion.
