My rating may be impacted my my unfamiliarity with queer studies academic writing - I might revisit this work after some deeper reading.
It was interesting to see analysis combining quite a few medieval works I have read. However, it felt rambling and disconnected - connecting a lot of disparate topics and points within each chapter, and I didn’t feel like I was finding a clear focus for each section. Additionally, it felt like this work was showing its age, in being a fairly binary view of gender and queerness.

lol the only thing i speak abt in my mediveal class this sem is this book i...... love it .... its good as a reference book nd the indexing system is rly nice as its quite a heafy read if u don't have things to look 4 specifically (e.g lesbianism, gender theory, a specific text nd how its queer e.g. wife of bath or smth!) But sick 4 that!
