The artwork of this comic is absolutely stunning. I could spend hours staring at the illustrations thorough out the book. I'm not sure I ever really figured out what the story wanted, but maybe if I return to it again it will make more sense.

beautiful artwork and a lovely story:) it can get pretty confusing at the beginning tho b/c a lot of information about the basic setting/concepts (that probably should’ve been moved to the beginning) are only revealed toward the end

Weird and wonderful. I put a big premium on Big Imagination stuff: hallucinogenic, acid indie comix hit me, ugh, right in the spot. Mirror is one of those.

I gueeeeess it's kinda comparable to the visionary and weird stuff of Moebius (but without the ughh tedious sexist writing), and is infused with a lot of the naturalist "aaaawwww awwwwww" (heavenly chanting) ambience of Hayao Miyazaki stuff. It veers dangerously close to furry central (there is a sexy dog lady and a buff minotaur man), but I can be tolerant of that.

The world-building is coherent and strange, the plot structure cyclical, the art gentle, atmospheric watercolors. The dialogue was meeeeehhh (and omg I hated the talk bubble fonts), but, again, I can tolerate all that - since its strengths were, yes, strong. I mean, there's a sentient asteroid, for crying out loud.

I think I didn't have enough time/mental energy to give this comic the chance it deserved. I came from Pretty Deadly, which Emma Rios co-creates, mostly on the art side I think, and from reading "ID" in Island, which Rios wrote, to this weird, watercolored tale of an asteroid and the people and creatures that try to make a life there. Lots of things are implied, and we jump between timelines...

I like the general vibe, and perhaps the overarching story, but didn't feel compelled while reading it.

I loved the art style and the concept behind this story, the blend of human and animal achieved to various degrees in various species and characters. That said, the story did feel a bit skip-jumpy and timelines weren't always clear even when a date was included. I didn't totally comprehend how the Guardians worked or where exactly Irzah was or even what it was, until I read the bonus content at the end. While creative and unique, some of the layouts combined with the watercolor style made it a bit hard to tell what was going on in certain panels, or which panels came before others.

The art was absolutely gorgeous. I was intrigued by the story, but I had a bit of a hard time following it, so I didn't always understand what was going on. Still the art alone makes it worthwhile.
