4.0

Definitely more progression in the plot than in Book 2, and I didn’t realize a fourth book came after this until I was almost at the end. Like Book 2, this book comes in at around 80 pages under Book 1, I wish they’d spent a little more time fleshing out some events,
like Chase’s experiences in Olympus. I don’t think we get enough looks into Cameron’s perspective to fully deserve Chase’s emotional investment in him. Denise falls into the background after the reveal, and more time could have been spent with her and the development of Chase’s potential divine suitors to make them more of a threat—both fade into the background here.
Sarah’s involvement/return doesn’t surprise me, but despite the foreshadowing that she’s working on “fixing” Ichor’s choice in vessel, by the time Sarah shows up she’s just being led there by Cameron, and doesn’t seem to have much agency or interest in getting back at Chase—we don’t get the sense she’s been preparing at anything, tbh.
This book and Book 2 needed a closer review before publishing—there’s occasional mixups of character names that are confusing. All in all it’s enjoyable (even as absolutely bananas as this series is)
