A little torn, after the last two novels this one just didn't connect with me as much. The ending is still heart stopping intense but I guess I just don't like how dumb all the people are sometimes. Even as the kids go through this moral ambiguity (are we villains too or not) I guess I just found this one not as enjoyable as the last few books.

I liked this book and rated it higher than the previous ones, because of the shift in the narrative. The change in Baudelaires' approach mesmerized me truly; Being the ones who are disguised throughout the story.
Apart from that, I loved the freaks closure. Like explaining what would happen if you humiliate and disdain people. How you can generate monsters out of innocent nice people deep down.
This series thrives as it goes on and on to something more than just a "series of unfortunate events";
