The Battlemage is the last book in the Summoner triolgy, and it left me wanting more. Now, I say this in a good way. It didn't end on a painful cliffhanger, and tied up loose ends quite nicely. What I mean by this is that oh boy do I want a 4th book! Now i know this isn't going to happen, but this is just to emphasize how enjoyable this trilogy was. Fletcher really surprised me with his character. I can still remember him from the first book; I wasn't sure If I was going to particularly like him or not, but he showed time and time again that he learns from his mistakes and takes responsibility for his actions. He is not a ruthless killer, nor a passive martyr; he is truly a man by the end of this book and hopping along for the journey was an incredible ride. I feel somewhat proud to say that I felt of Fletcher as somewhat of a friend and companion throughout his adventures, and really felt like I was part of the crew. I applaud Taran Matharu for creating such a unique story and am looking forward to reading his upcoming Sci-Fi books.

The Battlemage was a good ending to the Summoner series. There were a couple of things that were left open ended that could be revisited if the author ever decides to continue the series, but everything was pretty much wrapped up nicely. What I like most about this series are the demons. I love the giant turtle demon that they encountered and I loved what we found out about Ignatius. Overall this is a good series with all the books being equally likeable. This is a YA fantasy series that I would recommend to any teen interested in reading fantasy. It's fun and not too dark.

An exciting and serious ending to this lovely little series. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this
Spoiler (and the time we got to spend in the ether was really, really cool!) even though many favorite characters died in the big final battle.

The book was just slightly lacking in plot for me, as most of it had to do with just this one war, without much else going on. The big battle was really well done and I felt really immersed in it, but I wished we had seen just a LITTLE more of the afterward after the battle instead of just a short epilogue. However, maybe the author will continue on in this world he's created and we can see what some of our favorite characters are up to after the big battle!

In any case, a solid 4 stars and I would definitely recommend this series to people who like fantasy!
