A sequel greater than its predecessor. The plot kicks into gear and Karou really starts to come into her own as she is forced to grow up, following the events at the end of DOSAB. The instalove between Karou and Akiva hindered my enjoyments of DOSAB - it felt like the main plot was placed on a very large back burner whilst the background to their connection was explored - but DOBAS brings the main plot back into focus and kicks it up by about 100, whilst the romance takes a back seat, which really allows the world building and characters to flourish - plus, the writing is 🤌🏼, which helps.

Quite the frustrating ending. Actually it was frustrating all of the way through. Karou can't catch a break. I' m looking forward to the next one.
