What an interesting story. It was so vivid I could imagine I was there in London with Bess. I felt myself holding my breath in places and I absolutely loved the end.

There are two sides to every story. This book gave equal weight to both sides, two women from very different backgrounds, with one very big thing in common, but little else. I liked that by the end of the story, those two women came to understand each other a little better. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others.

Blah. Skimmed to the overly tidy unrealistic ending. Not a single character behaved like a real person.

Possibly 3.5 stars, but what was that ending?!!
