I didn’t love it. It’s a simple read and quick - I was able to finish it in one evening. I really didn’t like the mmc. He kept saying he wouldn’t pressure the fmc to have a relationship…and would then proceed to pressure her. And then she had to give everything up to follow him ?!

A fast and fun read, but perhaps a bit too much happening in the wings for such a short tale. I feel like I’ve not got much closure, particularly when it comes to Britta’s family life which was such a big part of why she is the way that she is.
I know not to expect much depth from a novella but, by being a short story, I think it is reasonable to leave out some of the sub-plots and just get down to the nitty gritty. Otherwise, you end up with a story that’s more surface level than its potential would allow it to be.

Here’s a novella that was short but didn’t feel short. While there are probably inaccuracies in the immigration process, it was a good romance book. Sumner fell first and fell hard, and was so determined.

I don't even know why I bother with anything Tessa Bailey writes when her books are clearly not to my taste. The premise of this one seemed cute, so I only have myself to blame for picking it up.
Look, I love explicit sex scenes as much as any other romance enthusiast, but something about Tessa Bailey's imagery and use of language gives me the heebie-jeebies.
