😁

I love Jenika alpha series. Animal is no different. Short read but packed with a lot of heat. Loved it.

This is my problem with the A Real Man series: Lumberjack was absolutely phenomenal and there have been some more hits since then, but for the most part, the books in this series read exactly alike. Why do all the different men (in these standalone books that have nothing to do with each other) talk about their junk and sex in the exact same way? Why do they get excited about the exact same things? More than that, certain plot points are repeated almost word by word in some books. Reading Animal, I had to go back and check if I had accidentally started re-reading Blacksmith, because the events were just that similar.

I want to love this series, but most of these books read like this is just practice work for the author. And maybe it is, but if it is, maybe don't charge me 3 bucks a pop. At least put it on Kindle Unlimited or something.

As a writer, it's uncomfortable to be critical of other people's hard work. Writing is hard, especially when you have to do it for a living and there's a bunch of fans expecting new books consistently, and expecting them to be bangers every time. BUT, at the same time, it's insulting to me as a reader to pay for a book that seems to be good, but reads like there was no effort put into it.

Spoiler PS. The amount of time these men take to get to the point is ridiculous. These men spend pages upon pages promising the woman that they’re gonna f*** them super hard but take forever to do it. It’s like foreplay on steroids and it gets boring really fast.

Rye Jaxon is a criminal and a business man and the partner of Kash. Kash's daughter, Jessa, has finally grown up and set her eyes on Rye, even though he is more than two decades older than her.

But will Rye allow himself to give into Jessa knowing what's at stake?

This is another of Jenika's alpha male stories, each similar and unique in their own way.

Rye is a dangerous man yet has a soft spot for Jessa and when she lets him know how she feels about him, he gives in. The two have hot sex (of course) and Jessa knows she will be Rye's forever.

I loved Kash's initial reaction to everything! That was definitely a twist and I thought it was great!

The epilogue was awesome as usual!

descriptionSmokin' hot cover on this one. Great representation of the hero. OK composition (the authors name is awkardly placed IMO) and interesting title work.description

descriptionI enjoyed this one but it wasn't one of my favorites of the series. It was SUPER short and SMOKIN' HOT for sure, but I also found it repetitive. No OW/OM drama. Very insta. Virgin heroine (19). An older hero (39ish?) who hadn't had sex in awhile. All wrapped up in two fairly decent epilogues.description

I liked the installment but I did not really get behind the chemistry between the main characters.

What I liked/Didn’t Like: While this one was dark it was also very plausible and could really happen in real life. Both Characters made this story with their banter and romance.
