I do like this series, but really I kind of want something more to happen.

El amor está en el aire. En el de Kioto, específicamente.

I have read the cute, heartbreaking story of Fruits Basket years ago. And I read it about 3 or 4 times, maybe more. The story is a bit cliche, but the characters are memorable.

A story about closed off loners that broken, depressed and sad individuals hoping for a happiness they could never achieve. Each characters deals with the pain and loneliness differently, learning how to embrace happiness and bloom into individuals they never thought they could be.

Its beautifully written, heartwarming, with relatable emotions anyone can feel. This is one any manga avid reader should go through at least once. A classic that should honestly be recommend by anyone.

Do I recommend it:

The interactions between Yuki and the student council members are always funny. We finally meet Yuki's mother.
SpoilerAyame to the rescue! Tohru suspects that Kureno Sohma is the man Arisa is in love with and goes to meet him. It's really cute that Momo feels a sibling connection to Momiji even though she is unaware that it is real. The romance between Kyo and Tohru starts to slowly intensify. It was a cute ending that Tohru made a cat zodiac ornament.

4 stars.

I read these volumes a few days ago and everything that happened isn't as fresh in my brain, compared to when I initially read it. However, I will say that I really love Yuki's arc throughout these last few volumes. He has grow so much and seeing the steps he is taking to better himself and be someone he is proud of just makes me really happy. Also, seeing him try to confront his trauma head on, instead of blocking it out was great. Seeing his backstory and the way he was treated by his mom and the rest of the family is heartbreaking. It's interesting seeing how much he and Kyo were hurting at that time but instead of growing closer and potentially being friends, it just made them more antagonistic towards each other.

Again constantly disturbed by the amount of incest and pedophilia in this series that it is almost distracting. This series does so much right in terms of emotional journeys and growth and yet a lot of wrong in never challenging these types of relationships and acting like it is normal/appropriate.
