I was really excited to get Maverick’s story! I loved getting to know him better and understand him. He was so sweet to Alessa and seeing her have the chance to care for him was amazing. This couple has been through so much.

Fellow readers have your tissues ready for this one, and try not to throw your kindle! Once again Serena has taken a difficult and often times negatively stigmatized issue and has handled it amazingly! Maverick and Ghost both have pasts that no one should have to endure, but endure it they did and are. I think their love story is one of Serena’s best because these characters find themselves in a horrible situation and have to either hold on to each other or let go. If that isn’t how real life is then I don’t know what is. Thank you for giving us this beautiful gritty romance!

I dont know how Ms. Akeroyd does it. Maverick is the hottest Sinner there is to date, he takes place of Steel. I concede. Im off to down an entire bottle of wine.

4.5 stars. Absolutely heartbreaking book. I’m really glad the PTSD and trauma from both of them was handled so well.

One of the best

This book was probably one of the saddest of them all so far. The diagnosis that Maverick has and how he kept everyone out was incredibly heartbreaking. Feeling like you've just lost the love of your life all over again, was also gard.
Alessa was strong for the both of them.
I did feel like this book cut off real abrupt so interested to see what happens next

I've been waiting for this one!

Maverick was probably my most anticipated out of all of the Sinners. This book broke me apart and then sewed me back together. I don't want to give too much away but Maverick has effects from the blast that almost irreparably change his relationship with Ghost. This book is Ghost taking control of her life and her love and fighting for Maverick along the way.
