This book was okay and that's why I am giving it three stars.
This book is about a girl named Janie and basically she sees herself on a milk carton in school and she claims that it is 100% her while at the time her friends think that she's lost it. She investigates throughout the book to find who she really is with some help from Reeve.
The idea of this book is pretty good even though it wouldn't be so appealing to teens since the kidnapped children being posted on milk carton is a concept long back. Right when she and reeve find the house where her biological parents live, they drive away. Right when she takes a step into solving her problem she steps down many times. This continued to lag throughout the book until the end where it ended with a cliffhanger when she calls her actual mom.
I think I will read the next book.

Picked up this from my daughter's shelf. Interesting premise, but parts were frustratingly contrived. However I'm into the story line enough to read the sequels too.

It was interesting to read this again after 20+ years. This was probably my favorite book/series when I was younger. Picked it to fulfill the "book published the year you were born" reading challenge.

I read this book in the sixth or seventh grade and it was the first book that was an all nighter for me. I absolutely loved it! The story was gripping and I loved Janie. I definitely think it's a great book for pre-teens.

I liked this book when I read it back in elementary school. It was a thought-provoking story.
