I liked the characters, but the story was not something that I really enjoyed. Not my cup of tea...

Second book on the Holiday and Heroes by Patricia D. Eddy and I got to say I enjoyed it as much as the previous one. I admit that I knew Mac from other stories but Garrett and Lilah did a pretty good job in their own way to make me fall for this book, from beginning to end.

The two main characters where realistic, each in their own way. Not only that but I also got the feeling that they were relatable because of their backgrounds. I felt mostly for Lilah because of the abuse she was living in and how things evolved for her. The good thing is that this story had a happy ending.

The writing was well done and on point. I didn't feel like there was too much talking of any particular topic, even when Lilah kept thinking of her situation and how things went. It can be annoying when a protagonist can't get out of her own way, fortunately that didn't happen here.

I would recommend this book but at the same time, I have to say this have some triggers when it comes to violence and drunkenness combined.
