I read this because I really enjoyed the series on Netflix, and as the first comic I've ever read this was good. It's pretty much exactly what I expected after having watched it first. Usually I prefer to read the original before watching adaptations but I actually think it helped me visualize the world and characters better. That might sound weird because obviously a comic gives you visualizations already, but that's just what I thought...

Probably my favourite storywas the last one. I like how Death is depicted in this. She's not scary or cruel but actually a pretty cool person. I think that's a very unique idea and sort of a nice change after the other stories which are quite dark and brutal.

I did not think I’d like it at first, but oh boy that book did not let me off the hook. Can’t wait for the next ones (even though it works as a stand alone too as well). I really liked the characters (Lucifer, Dream, death although not as much and also the girl lol). It’s Neil Gaiman, what did I expect?!?!

In the first of Neil Gaiman's famous graphic novel series, we see The Sandman try to regain all of the power he has lost. This was a reread for me, and I had forgotten just how gritty, violent and downright disturbing it was. I would warn folks of that going in, but it is such a fascinating story and I love the way Gaiman does magical realism and plays with mythological themes. The artwork is also amazing! My gripes would be that some of the language is a little dated, the characters are not very diverse and there main characters seem to be men until the end...
