Love a good circular series. Character growth is very sweet.

Eoin Colfer brings us in for a strong finish to this great series. This book is tautly paced and conceptually magnificent. I loved these characters as a kid and am glad they got this ending.

Whoa. This was a phenomenal end to a phenomenal series. The characterizations, the depth, and the breadth were amazing.

It wasn't as good as some of the other Artemis Fowl's, but it was Artemis Fowl, i.e. very amusing in its own way. Worth reading if you have read the others, finally ends the Opal Koboi story. There may be more in the series, there may not be. But it was something fun to read.

Artemis is recovered from his Atlantis Complex and ready to move forward with his life. Unfortunately, Opal Koboi has had plenty of time to plan an escape from the Atlantis prison. This time Opal plans to obliterate all humanity and set herself up as a queen over the fairy people. Butler, Artemis and Holly must once again save the world, defeat an insane pixie and somehow manage to keep all their friends and family alive while doing it.

Another fun, quick read. This is a typical AF book with lots of bodily function humor, improbable antics and characters I can't help but love despite myself. Fans of the series will enjoy this book just as much as the others. I believe this is supposed to be the last AF book, however, the ending leaves things open in case Colfer wants to come back later and add to the series.

In the end, I am glad that I saw it out to the end of the series. This last book was much better than the previous two books, and better than The Last Colony.

I did find myself comparing it to the Bartemeaus Trilogy, which I liked quite a bit better than Artemis Fowl, and then I realized that the Bartemeaus Trilogy was published first.

But this was a great conclusion to Artemis Fowl's story, and I'm glad I read it, though I can't justify even so much as a four star review: Artemis again has multiple moments in this story where he just acts like an idiot instead of a boy genius, and the book suffers with the same continuality errors that the last three books have. Artemis doesn't understand military signals that he clearly explains in previous books, events of the previous books are brushed under the rug to be forgotten about completely, etc. etc.

And wow, I don't know what Colfer has against dogs, but there was a lot of dog death in this book (and it reminded me that there was even some in a previous book too. The Time Paradox, maybe?)

OH MY GOD. I have no words for this book. It's simply GENIUS. Beyond everything I've read. It completely blew my mind and I wasn't able to stop reading until I finished. I JUST LOVED IT SO MUCH. It's amazing. Eoin Colfer is awesome.

Gonna miss this series. Still, even in death, you have made a miracle Arty.

What a ride and what a great way to end the series.

SpoilerOkay, some may thinking of cloning yourself to "come back to life" so to speak would be a bit much, but to be honest, that's Artemis in a nutshell - there's always something, so I didn't mind too much.

You know how I haven't been taking Opal seriously? Well, woo-ee did she change my mind in this book. She was one certified whack job and really awful - even her dialogue couldn't detract me any further from her actions. Geebus... she needed to chill.

Really sad to finish this series - realised I really enjoy reading about child / teen geniuses. Particularly if they have a whole set of well-realised characters surrounding them.

Man, I'd totally read a new series with Myles and Beckett - they're fantastic.
