I felt so bewildered during the majority of this story. I know that it started with a key that was given to Zachariah in exchange for a book. Each key opens up a door leading to parties, businesses, libraries and even other people's homes. Most of these places are located innels located in the abyss of the sea where you cannot see the stars. There is a ship However that does allow the characters to see the stars. There is no plot, the story. The story goes on until these places crumble, burn, and even sink into unto unexistentialism. The only ones who survive are the ones with the power to control the time and places the doors can appear.
Everything else was so all over the place, but that was my comprehension of it.

the writing was good and poetic but the story was a bit confusing. i’m not sure if i “got” it. but also stories are ongoing and they loop and come back around and sometimes they’re connected and sometimes they’re not. sometimes there’s deeper meaning and sometimes not.
Spoileri thought dorian and zach was a little forced and i wish we got to see what happened w kat and zach and their reunion and lives in the afterward. i’m glad that fate and time came back together again.
it’s an interesting read. the world building is cool
