A bit slow at the beginning, but it sets itself up well and when everything comes together it's very tense and unsettling.

Well-written and compelling, but I don’t think I have the stomach for horror novels, especially not ones so woven with mushrooms, mold, and fungi. If I’d known I probably wouldn’t have picked it up, but I stuck around for Noemí because she was awesome and I wanted to see how it ended

A very spooky tale with a excellent strong female lead, perfect for an October read! My only complaint was the end got a bit chaotic, but I often find that to be the case with horror climaxes, and so I don't actually think that was an issue with the book, but perhaps more my feelings about horror.

This book was CRAZY I loved it so much. I was literally reading this with my hand over my mouth gasping lol 
Also had to remove half a star bc of the rapey vibes, it wasn’t too graphic but still made my skin crawl in an unwelcome way. It wasn’t used poorly tho so I can’t remove a full star?

 “One could construct a hundred different narratives, it didn’t make them true.”

At first, I was a little bored by this book but by the end, the gothic vibes were definitely there by the end. Normally, I enjoy gothic literature, so I think I would have enjoyed this book more if I was in the mood for it.
