Fun and cute, but a lot of things were brought up very suddenly and dropped just as fast. A few too many distractions. Ended really swiftly too, there was one conflict then, OK all better now! Several good things here, but a real lack of focus.

Solid queer fantasy romance! Really smooth writing, great characters, fun worldbuilding.

This story is about Eofi, a magical princess from Rhodia, who has been betrothed since birth to the Prince of Ieflaria, Albion. Ieflaria has been plagued by dragons who are killing a bunch of their people, and this Union is supposed to stop the dragon invasion. Albion faces an untimely death, however, and Eofi now finds herself betrothed to Albionās little sister, Adale.
This book was such an amazing concept and had some really compelling and lovely scenes, but it really needed to be longer. I wish the magic system was more explained, and the story a little less choppy. I feel like a lot of concepts introduced went unexplained that could of added a lot to the story (like āthe changeā and the science vs magic). I think if they were this book would be a lot more popular. The characters had really amazing development though and I felt like I got to know them even though the book was so short. It is really cool too that no one questions a same sex relationship (besides questioning about heirs). I like the two main characters aside from their love story. I wish we got to see the side characters a little more though. There is also some comments about weight in the book because our main character Esofi is pulse sized. I donāt like the comments, but Adaleās attitude towards it often counteracts then which is nice and refreshing. The story is also super fun and cute, so even though I felt the writing was not that good I still recommend if you want a fun fantasy read. Plus, the love story always brings a smile to my face.

I cannot believe how much I love this!!! It's so freaking good!!
Esofi is a new favourite character. She is soft and kind but a total goddamned badass at the same time. She will make an amazing queen and I would just continuously bow before her because she's that amazing. Also love a plus-size main character, even if she's a little self-conscious about it.
I really loved everything about this. The characters were really great, Esofi and Adale were individuals and had such a sweet chemistry between them. I also loved the clear differences in their friends/ladies in waiting, it further developed their characterization.
The world building was honestly phenomenal. I am so interested in all of the gods and goddesses of this world and all the little 'cults' within each temple. It's all so fascinating.
Obviously my favourite thing in this book was the equality. It seemed liked everyone was pansexual and that was totally acceptable and normalized. No one cared if Esofi married a man or woman or neutroi. That's the other thing, the third gender neutroi - kind of non-binary - is again totally normal, there's even a neutroi god. Homophobia was not a thing in this world at all and I wanna live there.
I could honestly have read a whole 400+ page book about these characters but it was also a perfectly sized book. I am so excited for the rest of the series as it delves into more of the religious organizations.

Dragons and women who love women?! Sign me up.
This was a quick and fun read. Going to scream at all my friends to read it.
