I loved this book and I would have given it five stars but twilight was not in it so it wasn't very good

Oh my, this book was a chore to get through. Short and sweet but poorly constructed. On the other hand, my four year old, who loves ponies and magic and doesn’t care much about grammar and dialogue, loved it!

Humanized ponies are bad enough, but the author change made this book almost unbearable. Berrow managed to make the first book good, sticking to the Mane 6's personalities, but this one was just simple kid sentences and a bunch of exclamation marks. I really hope the movie is not this bad, because how they treated the characterization of DJ was pretty boring and disappointing and I'd expected more.

I read these books when I was younger and loved and then I would have rated them five starts but now I probably wouldn't have liked thyme as much and I don't want Goodreads to recommend me way younger books

Didn't really learn anything new about the world. I can't believe I'm saying this but it wasn't as fun without Twilight Sparkle.
