I'm so sad that this book didn't live up to the expectations i had for it.

It definitely explores some interesting topics: sexuality, different family dynamics, the hardship that is deciding what you want to do for the rest of your life, mental health... The problem for me was that I couldn't relate to the characters, it was overdramatic at times and just very bland at others.
Maybe this would have been a good one to listen to instead of reading seeing that radio/sound is an important part of the plot, idk.

Oh Alice Osman, you’ve done it again, what beautiful, heartfelt and accepting book, I am so happy for all those going through similar struggles to your characters that will find some relief and insight, can’t recommend this author or their message highly enough.

I really enjoyed this one. Lots of great commentary on fandom culture, hits different after what happened to Kit Connor. My one point of criticism is that some of the "texting" parts and Twitter post sections felt weird in audio but the narration is so good throughout I'm willing to overlook it. Any fans of Heartstopper should read this.

Also I found the child abuse triggering and i found out the dog dies and it made me spiral about my childhood dog who’s super old

I struggled with this book’s opening. But, it really moved from strength to strength. Great characters, and very moving. I will keep an eye out for Oseman’s other work to see if I like the sound of her other books, as she demonstrates some really good skill here.
